Call for Abstracts for the International Association of Women Police Conference 2026 

The International Association of Women Police (IAWP) and the Indonesian National Police (INP) will host the 2026 Annual Conference in Bali, Indonesia from 20-24 September 2026.

This prestigious event will mark the 63rd annual IAWP conference.

The conference theme “Women Leading Global Change” will focus on developing women within policing as well as on how policing responds to the communities they serve.

The 2026 conference will provide an ideal learning and networking forum for those working within the policing field including officers, professional staff, supervisors, managers, administrators, researchers and academics.

Speaker Qualifications

We welcome applications from:

  • Current and former police personnel
  • Subject matter experts in the relevant field
  • Academic practitioners

Abstract Criteria

  •  It forms the basis of what you intend to give your oral presentation on at the conference;
  • The oral presentation will be for 60 minutes, including question time;
  • All presentations must be original work
  • You must indicate your co-authors/presenters;
  • It is the responsibility of the presenting author to gain approval of their agency/department (if required) to submit an abstract and present, should the abstract be accepted for presentation.
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the form below.

All presenters are encouraged to participate in the full conference.

What We Provide

  • A single day registration fee will be waived for accepted speakers. No further compensation is available.
  • Travel and accommodation costs are the responsibility of speakers or their sponsoring organization.

Important Dates

Abstract Submission Deadline: 15 January 2026

Author Notification: 15 February 2026

Deadline for final paper submission: 15 April 2026


Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must be written and presented in English, and not exceed 300 words (text only).

Abstracts are evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • relevance to the conference theme
  • interest to an international audience
  • professional merit
  • contribution to knowledge, practice and policies
  • clarity of abstract

Presenters’ biographies are to be submitted with the abstract and the biographies to be written in third person and 100 words maximum.

It is the responsibility of the presenting author to ensure the abstract is submitted correctly. The conference coordinators will not be held responsible for abstract submissions not received via the online submission process, or for submission errors caused by internet service outages, hardware or software delays, power outages or unforeseen events.

Acknowledgement of receipt of your abstract is not deemed as an acceptance.  

We reserve the right to make changes to the workshop title if necessary.

All abstracts will be reviewed by the Training Committee for acceptance after the submission date, ensuring abstracts represent all streams, with speakers from a diverse range of agencies and countries.  You will be notified if your submission has been successful and requested to develop a full presentation to be delivered at the conference.


Abstract Style Guide

  • Abstract must not exceed 300 words and must include a title.
  • No references, graphics, tables, footnotes or images are to be included with your abstract text.
  • Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract, when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at the first mention and follow with the abbreviation thereafter. Abbreviations may be used in the title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
