25 years policing experience with Peel Regional Police.  I am currently assigned as a Staff Sergeant on a Uniform Platoon at 11 Division in Mississauga, Ontario – Canada.

  Teaching Trauma Sensitive Yoga – Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Massachusetts (2014)

  Teaching Five Element Yoga – Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, Massachusetts (2015)

 

Outline for Yoga Instruction:

 

A one hour yoga session designed for law enforcement officers that will include several Asanas (poses) that will focus on:

 

.  Building Core Strength

.  Increasing & Maintaining Flexibility

.  Instruction on how to protect your back (of significant importance for those who wear gun-belts):

  when getting in and out of patrol cars

  sitting and/or standing for long periods of time

  getting up from a ground position

  during physical altercations/apprehensions

.  Mind/Body connection for managing stress
